For a panel discussion on copyright, I thought an image that referenced the Shepard Fairey Obama "Hope" poster would be effective.

"The Hulk-out List" Interactive Infographic

This is a interactive infographic based on the Hulk-Out List by Kenneth Johnson and Kevin Koster.

"Here Be Monsters" Video

I created a trailer for a movie about space exploration that plays with the idea that space explorers in the future will be much like sailors of the past.

MemoRambles Greeting Cards

I created these greeting cards to appear to be from an awkward boss in an office setting. They are in hand cut miniature manila folders.

Univers Type Specimen Book

This accordian book features one long illustration on one side, going from the sky down to a subway underground.

District Magazine

This magazine was designed to be a flip book, with two 'front' covers and tables of contents. One side is for daytime activities, the other for night.

Infographics

These are infographics made for the Northern Virginia Community College website.

"The Boy Who Cried Viking" Book

This is a children's book I wrote, illustrated, and designed. It is based on an Aesop fable.

Happ App

Happ rates places based on accessibility. Users choose a profile for the disability they want their results to reflect, rate with an up-down system, and make short comments that get right to the point.

About Me

I'm John. I'm a designer working in the Washington, DC, area. This is a sampling of the work I can do. I am interested in web design and interactive design, but I also love working in print and working with my hands to actually create things. I think my strengths lie in understanding how a user will view or use something I'm creating, and finding concepts that work as overall themes.
